Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) announced a Rs 4,000 crore contract from Adani-group subsidiary Mahan Energen. The state-owned firm is planning to supply the latter with power generation equipment for an anticipated 2×800 power project in Bandhaura, Madhya Pradesh.
According to a press release filed with the exchanges, the company will supply Mahan Energen with heavy equipment like a boiler, turbine, generator, and associated auxiliaries, as well as control and instrumentation mechanisms. The company stated that in addition to delivering the aforementioned equipment, it will also supervise and commission the forthcoming supercritical technology-based power project.
In its Q1FY24 results, the company recorded a 7.08% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue from operations to Rs 5,003 crore. Losses for the quarter increased year-on-year to Rs 344 crore, up from Rs 188 crore in the same quarter the previous year. Meanwhile, the operational loss for the period under review was Rs 364 crore.
