Board of Trade meeting for increasing exports to be held next month

29 Aug 2022 , 08:00 AM

The Board of Trade meeting to examine how to increase the nation’s exports is expected to be presided over by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal next month.

The Board advises on international trade policy.

It provides a forum to discuss methods to increase manufacturing and exports and is led by the minister and includes delegates from states and union territories, as well as senior officials from the public and commercial sectors.

The official suggested that the board might meet in the middle of September.

The government proposed 29 non-official board members, representing both major and small businesses, from various industries last month.

Om Prakash Mittal, head of the India Cellular and Electronics Association, Pankaj Mahindroo, and RS Sodhi, managing director of Amul, are among the new members.
