The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) announces a revision on the expiry day of S&P BSE Bankex derivatives contracts through a circular dated August 30. Effective October 16, the expiry day will shift to Monday, departing from the existing practice of concluding on Fridays.
According to the BSE’s statement, the new S&P BSE Bankex contracts with a Monday expiry will be generated on October 13, 2023, at the end of the day. These contracts will subsequently be available for trading from October 16, 2023.
It’s important to note that the expiry day of Sensex derivative contracts will remain unchanged and continue to be on Fridays. When the expiry day coincides with a trading holiday, it will be scheduled on the previous day.
The decision to alter the Bankex contracts’ expiry day is rooted in the feedback collected from various market participants.
