Canara Bank appoints Dibakar Harichandran on Board; stock adds ~1%

In its filing with the exchanges, Canara Bank Ltd. has informed the investors and exchanges that Central Government has nominated Shri Dibakar Prasad Harichandan as part-time non-official director on the Board of Directors of Canara Bank, for a period of three years from the date of notification, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri Dibakar Prasad Harichandan is a 51 years old practicing Chartered Accountant, who also possesses other qualifications such as MCom, FCA, LLB, and. He is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He has more than two decades of rich experience m Auditing, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Law, Economics, and Small-Scale Industries. He has versatile experience in the gamut of accounting and finance operations with knowledge in GAAP, IFRS, IND AS.

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs227.50 up by Rs1.7 or 0.75% from its previous closing of Rs225.80 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs227.50 and has touched today’s high and low of Rs230.40 and Rs227.10 respectively.
