CBI registers FIR against Gail's Director (Marketing) E S Ranganathan; Stock trades higher

Gail (India) has announced that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CPI) has registered an FIR against E S Ranganathan, Director (Marketing) of the Company and other private persons on charges of criminal conspiracy, demand and obtaining undue advantage by a public servant, taking undue advantage to influence public servant, bribing public servant etc.

Also, the CBI has searched at the premise(s) of E S Ranganathan, Director (Marketing) of the Company and other private persons in connection with the said case.

Further, there are media reports of E S Ranganathan being arrested in the said case.

Gail said that the Company is not aware of any information other than those published or reported in the media.

“At this stage, no estimated financial impact or estimated amount can be ascertained,” Gail said.

At around 2.52 pm, Gail was trading at Rs145.05  per piece up by 0.62% on Sensex. The stock was near the day’s high of Rs145.20 per piece.
