Centre releases revenue deficit grant of Rs7183 crore to 14 states

On Tuesday, the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) grant of Rs7,183.42 crore was distributed to 14 states as the sixth monthly installment by the Union Finance Ministry.

As recommended by the 15th Finance Commission, the grant has been made available. A total PDRD award of Rs86,201 crore to 14 states has been recommended by the Commission for the years 2022—2023. The Department of Expenditure releases the requested award in 12 Equiv. monthly installments.

The overall grant given to the states in 2022—23 has increased to Rs43,100.50 crore with the distribution of the sixth installment for September. The states that have been proposed for the current fiscal year are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.
