The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has imposed a ban on trading four stocks in the futures and options (F&O) segment on Monday, July 10, 2023.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), Delta Corp, Granuls India, and India Cements are the stocks placed under the F&O ban list for the day.
The ban has been imposed as the derivative contracts of these securities crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), as stated by the NSE. However, these stocks will still be available for trading in the cash market.
NSE updates the list of securities under the F&O ban on a daily basis, based on MWPL breaches. During the ban period, no fresh positions can be taken in the F&O contracts of these stocks.
NSE has instructed clients/members to only trade in these securities’ derivative contracts to decrease their positions through offsetting trades. Any increase in open positions will result in appropriate penalties and disciplinary action, as stated by the NSE.
