Beijing has been removed off the updated exemption list, according to the commerce ministry, thus textiles and items made by them that are being imported into India must now be tested for the presence of Azo dyes.
There is a list of nations in the foreign trade policy (FTP) that are excluded from testing for the presence of this dye in textiles and its products. China was taken off of this list while the UK was added.
The nations of the European Union, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom are among these nations.
The list of nations that are exempt from testing for the presence of Azo dyes in textiles and textile products has been updated by the DGFT.
Azo dyes are mostly utilized in the textile, fibre, and leather industries.
A public announcement from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) stated that the list has been updated by modifying an appendix to the FTP and that ‘countries exempt from testing for the presence of azo dyes in textiles and textile articles is updated.’
