To assure the flawless operation and error-free creation of QR code tickets, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is now carrying out internal tests. Prior to making the technology available to passengers, their goal is to identify and fix any potential problems.
DMRC has deployed paper tickets based on QR codes across all Metro lines to ease the transition to QR code technology. There are at least two gates in every Metro station that include QR code readers. However, there have been some hiccups and issues with the system.
DMRC is still dedicated to improving the technology and resolving any issues that arose during the trial phase. The ultimate goal is to improve Delhi’s entire commuter experience by streamlining ticketing procedures and offering Metro users a user-friendly experience.
Currently, smart cards are used by over 75% of DMRC commuters, a little fall from 78% in May of the previous year. Around 70% of people were using smart cards at the time of the COVID-19 outbreak.
