DGCA levied a penalty of Rs 30 lakhs on IndiGo Airlines and also instructed the company to amend their documents and procedures in accordance with DGCA requirements and OEM guidelines, said the reports.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has requested airlines to carefully follow laws and to sensitize pilots and cabin crew in order to prevent occurrences of illegal access into the cockpit. The regulator also cautioned that any violation of the applicable regulation dealing with unauthorized cockpit entry would be rigorously enforced and could result in severe penalties.
In a statement, the DGCA ordered all scheduled airlines’ heads of operations to prevent any unauthorized entry in the cockpit through appropriate means.
