Economic Buzz: Eurozone Unemployment Rate At 6.6% In July

In July 2022, the euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 6.6%, down from 6.7% in June 2022 and from 7.7% in July 2021. The EU unemployment rate was 6.0% in July 2022, down from 6.1% in June 2022 and from 6.9% in July 2021. These figures are published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Eurostat estimates that 12.959 million men and women in the EU, of whom 10.983 million in the euro area, were unemployed in July 2022. Compared with June 2022, the number of persons unemployed decreased by 113 000 in the EU and by 77 000 in the euro area.
