UK consumer confidence ticked higher in November but remained close to record-low levels, with soaring inflation and the spectre of recession making a sustained improvement unlikely, market research firm GfK said on Friday. GfKs monthly consumer confidence index, rose in November to -44 from -47 in October, having struck an all-time low of -49 in September. Consumer confidence improved for the second straight month as political concerns eased, though it remained near a record low of -49 reached in September as the cost-of-living crisis and a dim economic outlook weighed on sentiment.Powered by Commodity Insights
