Essar and D A Roberts agree on a new 60 million liter fuel contract

Essar Oil UK Ltd announced on Wednesday that it has reached a five-year agreement to provide 60 million liters of fuel to D A Roberts in Shropshire, which operates bunkers to sell fuel locally.

The agreement will enable the business to purchase fuel directly from its production source to increase efficiencies and deliver economies of scale savings, the firm said in a statement. D.A. Roberts’ Grindley Brook garage in Whitchurch, Shropshire, will be rebranded as an Essar outlet.

Only six refineries exist in the UK, and Essar’s Stanlow refinery will deliver premium goods directly to retailers like D A Roberts at competitive pricing.

The website will sell all fuel grades, including Essar 99 high octane, and give users the option to sign up for the Essar Keypoints reward program.

The company D A Roberts Fuels Ltd. is run by a family. David Roberts, the managing director, began working on automobiles in a modest garage workshop he purchased on the A49 Tarporley Road in 1969. He relocated to Grindley Brook Garage in 1977 to start selling petrol on a tiny forecourt because he hoped to grow the company a few years later.
