GAIL (India) has acquired an equity stake of26% held by IL&FS Energy Development Company Ltd (IEDCL) and IL&FS Financial Services Ltd (IFIN) in ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited (OTPC).
OTPC owns and operates a 726.6 MW gas-based combined cycle power plant in Palatana, Tripura.
The transaction is said to be valued at Rs319cr.
At around 12.22 pm, Gail was trading at Rs136.45 per piece up by 2.8% on Sensex.
The stock has touched an intraday high and low of Rs136.45 per piece and Rs132.65 per piece respectively.
