Go First takes delivery of 55th A320 neo

1 Dec 2022 , 09:30 AM

Go First, a no-frills airline, reported on Wednesday that it had taken delivery of its 55th A320 neo aircraft and that it would soon be receiving functioning engines from P&W. The airline now operates 60 aircraft, of which 55 are A320 neos and five are A320 ceos.

However, at least 25 aircraft are grounded, mostly because the Pratt & Whitney (P&W) engines needed to power its A320 fleet are not available.

The airline announced on Wednesday that it has received its 55th A320 neo aircraft.

As part of expansion plans, it has made definite orders for the delivery of 144 Airbus A320 neo aircraft.

"Go First has also got word from Pratt & Whitney that engines will be delivered soon and placed into service as soon as possible by December 2022. This will undoubtedly assist to meet the rising demand for domestic travel.

According to the statement, "Go First plans to increase the frequency and number of flights with the introduction of several serviceable engines to give improved connectivity to its passengers and to restore its market share."

The airline is also dealing with flight delays and rescheduling of departure times as many aircraft continue to be out of service. Additionally, its On-Time Performance (OTP) has suffered.
