On Saturday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the search engine giant would use its current $10 billion India digitization fund to create its global financial operations centre at GIFT City in Gujarat.
‘Thanks to UPI and Aadhaar, it (the fintech facility) will solidify India’s leadership in the sector. We’re going to expand it globally and build on that base,’ Pichai stated.
Following their meeting during the Prime Minister’s three-day state visit to the US, Pichai made the assertions.
Satya Nadella, the chairman and CEO of Microsoft, also had a meeting with an Indian delegation in Washington, DC, which included the Prime Minister.
The business stated in a statement that although the discussions were confidential, one significant subject was the use of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, to help better the lives of Indians.
Pichai praised the Prime Minister’s vision for Digital India, calling it innovative and forward-thinking, and stated that other nations are now eager to adopt it as a model.
PM Modi and Pichai interacted, according to a tweet from the Ministry of External Affairs, and ‘discussed measures like artificial intelligence, fintech, and promoting research and development.’
They also addressed how Google and Indian academic institutions may work together to advance talent development and research.
