According to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s Chairman and Managing Director C B Ananthakrishnan, the company has an order book position of Rs84,000 crore. He further highlighted that another Rs50,000 crore is in the pipeline.
He also stated that Argentina and Egypt are interested in purchasing the HAL-built Light Combat Aircraft ‘Tejas’.
While Argentina required 15 LCAs, Egypt desired a fleet of 20 LCAs, Ananthakrishnan said at a press conference on the sidelines of Aero India 2023, Asia’s largest air show, which is currently taking place at Air Force Station, Yelahanka.
According to Ananthakrishnan, indigenisation has been given a boost in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’.
Recently, HAL also unveiled a scale model of the Hindustan Lead-in Fighter Trainer (HLFT-42) at the 14th edition of Aero India in Bengaluru.
At around 3.27 PM, Hindustan Aeronautics was trading 0.86% higher at Rs2,467.95 per piece, against the previous close of Rs2,446.90 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of Rs2,483 and Rs2,443.10 respectively.
