HDFC Bank and Marriott Bonvoy Collaborate to Launch India's First Co-Branded Hotel Credit Card

HDFC Bank introduced the ‘Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card’ in partnership with Marriott Bonvoy. The card is co-branded and features Diners Club, a part of the Discover Global Network, as the network partner. The new card offers a range of travel benefits and privileges to consumers, combining the strengths of both brands.

Cardholders gain Silver Elite Status with Marriott Bonvoy, including priority late checkout, member-exclusive rates, and bonus points. Parag Rao, Country Head of Payment Business at HDFC Bank, highlights the card’s launch as ideal due to increased ‘revenge spending’ post-pandemic, focusing on travel experiences.

Benefits include a one-year redeemable free night award valued at up to 15,000 points at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels worldwide.

Cardholders receive ten elite night credits annually for Silver Elite Status and up to three additional free nights upon meeting specific spending thresholds. Earning potential includes eight Marriott Bonvoy points for every Rs 150 spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and four points for eligible travel, dining, and entertainment transactions.

Cardholders can earn two Marriott Bonvoy points per Rs 150 on other eligible purchases, except fuel, wallet reload, and rentals. The card offers complimentary access to domestic and international lounges, along with personal air accident insurance coverage.

Parag Rao sees significant growth potential due to HDFC Bank’s customer base of over 100 million and 17-18 million credit cardholders. HDFC Bank recently launched the Swiggy HDFC Bank co-branded credit card in collaboration with Swiggy, hosted on Mastercard’s payment network.
