Higher raw material costs has pushed HUL to hike prices on its select products last year as well.
You can witness the sharpest increase is in Surf Excel’s bar for which prices were increased from Rs10 to Rs12, hence a 20% rise at once. The price for Lifebuoy’s 125 gms pack increased from Rs 29 to Rs31, while the price for 125 gm Pears Soap is increased to Rs83, as against Rs76 earlier.
The prices have also been increased for Wheel detergent powder from Rs30 to Rs31, and from Rs60 to Rs62, for half and one kg packs respectively. For Rin, the prices of bundle packs increased from Rs72 to Rs76, and for its 250 gms single bar Rs19 against Rs18.
The company had increased prices in November across various product lines within the range of 1-33%.
For companies, inflation remains a real concern going forward and could restrain growth from reaching expected levels. Consumers need products to be cheaper, whereas companies are facing raw material procurement issues at low prices.
Hindustan Unilever is currently trading at Rs2,413.85 up by Rs11.75 or 0.49% from its previous closing of Rs2,402.10 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs2,415 and has touched a high and low of Rs2,415 and Rs2,399 respectively.
