In the cities hosting the cricket world cup, OYO will add 500 hotels

In order to satisfy the anticipated surge in booking demand, hospitality technology platform OYO announced on Friday that it will add 500 new hotels in the three months leading up to the men’s cricket world cup in India’s host cities. 

According to a release from OYO, the new hotels will be strategically placed close to the stadiums to make it simple for cricket fans from around the world who are visiting to see their beloved teams in action to get there.

A firm spokesperson told ET that anytime the dates for a significant cricket event are revealed, travel demand naturally increases.

According to OYO, hotel rates have already gone up three months in advance as a result of the host cities’ increased demand. This demand growth will continue throughout the tournament, the company added.

Beginning on October 5 and ending on November 19, the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup will take place. Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Delhi, Dharamsala, Chennai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Pune will all host performances. Ahmedabad will host the championship game.
