India’s Trade Minister Piyush Goyal said that India’s exports in December 2021 increased by 37 per cent on an annual basis to $37.29 bn.
According to government data, with Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal tweeted that it was the “highest ever goods export in the history of India”.
Outbound shipments during April-December 2021 crossed $300 billion, exceeding the exports of 2020-21, as per data provided by the Commerce ministry.
India expects to achieve its export target of $400 billion in the current fiscal year that runs through March, Piyush Goyal said.
Further, in the month of November 2021, India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) are estimated to be USD 50.36 Billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 22.80 per cent over the same period last year and a positive growth of 15.53 per cent over November 2019. The month of Nov-21 was the 8th successive month when merchandise exports stayed above $30 billion.
The merchandise trade balance for November 2021 was estimated at USD (-) 22.91 Billion as against USD (-) 10.19 Billion in November 2020, which is a decline of (-) 124.77 per cent. As compared to November 2019 (USD (-) 12.75 Billion), the trade balance in November 2021 exhibited a negative growth of (-) 79.65 per cent.
