Domestic equity indices may see a day with gains. Yesterday, markets ended with losses with Sensex shedding over 300 points. Nifty 50 closed at 19,543. Sensex ended at 65,688.
Globally, US markets closed with modest gains after a sluggish session on the previous day. Dow Jones closed 53 points higher. Nasdaq ended with a gain of 16 points. S&P 500 ended marginally higher.
Asian peers trade in mixed cues following the stability in Wall Street Stocks. Chinese Shanghai Composite was trading 1.29% lower. Hong Kong’s Heng Seng was down by 0.75%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 0.84% higher. Taiwan index was higher by 0.30%. South Korean Kospi index was trading flat.
Nifty Midcap 50 stocks closed marginally higher. Nifty Bank ended with a ~1% decline.
In yesterday’s session, the top gainers were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, Titan, and ONGC. Biggest laggards were Asian Paints, Kotak Bank, Britannia Industries, ITC, and Nestle India.
Oil prices were slightly higher on Friday on optimism that oil demand may pent up in 2024. The Indian rupee closed 19 paise higher at 82.66 against the US Dollar.
