Indian equity markets saw a day in red today. Some sharp selling took place in the last 1 hour. Nifty 50 closed, down by 125.70 points. Sensex closed, down by 413.24 points. Top Gainers today were BPCL, Coal India and ONGC. Top Losers today were Kotak Bank, Tata Motors and M&M.
Stocks of oil marketing companies such as Indian Oil and BPCL saw sharp increase today after Indian Oil posted good March quarter result. Selling pressure was seen in a number of large-cap and mid-cap stocks. Some media stocks came under selling pressure too.
Idea, Yes Bank, and Vikas Lifecare were the most traded stocks today at NSE, in terms of volume. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and State Bank were the most traded stocks in terms of value. 90 stocks touched new 52-week high today at NSE. 12 stocks touched new 52-week low.
