Indian Markets May Open Negatively on Sept 25, 2024

Indian benchmark indices may open negative today. The GIFT Nifty was trading 50 points down at 25,927 on Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, indices ended flat and failed to hold the record highs after a highly volatile session. The Sensex ended 0.02% down at 84,914.04 while Nifty finished its day at 25,940.40, 0.01% up.

Global Markets:

Asian shares rose for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday, driven by a rally following supportive measures from Beijing, while US stocks reached new highs as investors anticipated further rate cuts.

The US markets ended at record highs brushing aside the weak consumer data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 83.57 points, or 0.20%, closing at 42,208.22. The S&P 500 rose 14.36 points, or 0.25%, to 5,732.93, while the Nasdaq Composite added 100.25 points, or 0.56%, ending at 18,074.52.

FII & DII Data:

The FII sold equities worth ₹2784 crore and DIIs bought equities of ₹3868 crore.
