Indian Oil appoints Ram Naresh Singh as Independent Director; stock gains ~1.5%

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) informed that Dr. Ram Naresh Singh has been appointed to the Board of Indian Oil as Independent Director with effect from April 8, 2022.

It is confirmed that he is not related to any other Director of the company.

Dr. (Prof.) Ram Naresh Singh holds a degree in M.A. in Maithili & English, Ph.D. in Maithili, and also completed LL.B.

Dr. Singh has more than 40 years of rich academic experience wherein he has held key driving positions like Head of Maithili Department, PG Centre, Saharsa and Principal, H.S. College Udakishungang, Madhepura.

He is a retired Professor (Maithili department) from Bhupendra Narayan Mandai University, Saharsa, Bihar. Currently, he is a Board Member in Bhupendra Mandai Narayan University as Govt. of Bihar Nominee. Dr. Singh also acted as an Independent Director on the Board of Instrumentation Limited, a Government Company. He also served as a member of various Hindi Advisory Committees of the Govt. of India.

IOCL is currently trading at Rs129 up by Rs2.05 or 1.61% from its previous closing of Rs126.95 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs126.95 and has touched intraday high and low of Rs129.40 and Rs126.60 respectively.
