Indian Shares Cheer RBI's Rate Hold, Sensex, Nifty Up 0.55%

The benchmark indices witnessed another day of gains on October 6, marking a second consecutive session of positive performance. At the closing bell, the Sensex surged by 364.06 points, or 0.55 percent, settling at 65,995.63. Simultaneously, the Nifty displayed a similar upswing, advancing by 107.70 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 19,653.50. In the broader market, 2229 stocks made gains, while 1291 experienced declines, and 156 remained unchanged.

Among the notable performers on the Nifty were Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Titan Company, IndusInd Bank, and Tata Consumer Products, while HUL, ONGC, Coal India, Bharti Airtel, and Asian Paints faced losses.

All sectoral indices ended the day in the green, with the realty index leading the way with a remarkable 3 percent gain. Additionally, Information Technology, FMCG, Metal, Auto, Power, and Healthcare sectors also posted gains ranging from 0.4 to 1 percent.

The broader market mirrored the performance of the main indices, with the BSE midcap and smallcap indices each rising by 0.5 percent.
