Indian Stock Market Ends Choppy Session with Minor Losses

In a session marked by volatility, the Indian equity market concluded with marginal losses. The Sensex closed down 110.64 points, or 0.15%, settling at 73,903.91, while the Nifty saw a decline of 8.70 points, or 0.04%, ending at 22,453.30. Throughout the trading day, 2686 shares advanced, 1015 shares experienced declines, and 111 shares remained unchanged.

Leading the losses on the Nifty were Hero MotoCorp, HCL Technologies, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI Life Insurance, while notable gainers included Tata Consumers Products, M&M, BPCL, Bajaj Auto, and Adani Ports.

In terms of sectors, realty, metal, oil & gas, media, power, and auto sectors demonstrated gains of 1-2%, whereas the Information Technology and Telecom indices saw declines of 0.5% each.

Meanwhile, the BSE midcap and smallcap indices displayed resilience, both rising by 1%, signaling positive sentiment in those segments of the market.
