The largest private mobile data network in the world, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, has launched JioSpaceFibre, India’s first giga-fibre service based on satellite technology, to provide high-speed internet connectivity to remote places.
On October 27, Jio announced the new satellite broadband service during the India Mobile Congress. The business claimed in a release that JioSpaceFiber will be made available at incredibly low prices across the nation.
‘Broadband internet is now available in millions of Indian homes and businesses for the first time thanks to Jio. We extend our reach to cover the millions of people who are still unconnected with JioSpaceFiber,’ said Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.
‘JioSpaceFiber will provide gigabit access to online government, education, health, and entertainment services, enabling everyone, everywhere, to fully participate in the new digital society.’
Currently, Jio offers both fixed-line and cellular high-speed broadband services to over 450 million customers in India. Jio added JioSpaceFiber to its already comprehensive lineup of broadband services, which also includes JioFiber and JioAirFiber, in order to hasten digital inclusion for every family in the nation, the firm announced.
No matter where they are, people and companies can enjoy unmatched access to dependable, low-latency, high-speed internet and entertainment services with Jio’s products.
According to a press release from the telecom, the satellite network would boost mobile backhaul capacity, expanding Jio True5G’s reach and scalability to even the most remote parts of the nation.
In order to access the most advanced medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology available, Jio has partnered with SES. This is because Jio is the only MEO constellation that can provide really unique gigabit, fiber-like services from space.
Since Jio has access to both the new O3b mPOWER satellites and SES’s O3b satellite, it is the only provider of game-changing technology in India, offering scalable and reasonably priced broadband.
JioSpaceFiber has already connected four of the most remote places in India, including Gir in Gujarat, Korba in Chhattisgarh, Nabarangpur in Odisha, and ONGC-Jorhat in Assam, to demonstrate its capabilities and wide reach.
This connectivity demonstrates JioSpaceFiber’s capacity to provide high-speed broadband services to the nation’s previously underserved locations.
