IndiGo Boosts Front-Row Seat Charges to Rs 2,000, Withdraws Fuel Surcharge to Cut Airfares

9 Jan 2024 , 11:20 AM

IndiGo increases charges for front-row seats with extra legroom, now up to Rs 2,000.

Passengers selecting window or aisle seats in the front row of A321 aircraft (232 seats) will be charged Rs 2,000; middle seat selection is Rs 1,500.

Charges for these seats remain consistent in A321 (222 seats), A320 (186 seats), and A320 (180 seats) aircraft.

For ATR planes, the seat selection charge is up to Rs 500.

IndiGo withdrew fuel charges imposed from October 6, 2023, reducing airfares by up to Rs 1,000 on certain long routes.

The fuel charge, ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 based on distance, was introduced due to a spike in jet fuel prices.

No immediate response from IndiGo regarding the seat selection charge increase to Rs 2,000.
