Infosys enters five-year agreement with Spirit AeroSystems for co-innovation

8 Sep 2022 , 10:02 AM

Infosys Limited, a worldwide leader in next-generation digital services and consultancy, announced a five-year deal with Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., one of the world’s major makers of commercial airplanes, defense platforms, and business/regional jets.

Infosys will work with Spirit AeroSystems to deliver aerostructure and systems engineering services for commercial, business jet, and emerging aircraft product development, as well as Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services.

This strategic alliance builds on the two companies’ 16-year engagement, during which Infosys has delivered creative design solutions for some of Spirit’s aerostructure products.

Infosys will provide end-to-end product development services as part of this agreement, including design engineering, sustaining engineering, stress engineering, systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, and repair and maintenance.

Infosys also intends to expedite product development across the value chain by leveraging knowledge-based engineering and engineering automation.

Furthermore, Infosys will assist Spirit to secure highly efficient structural designs and a strong certification procedure, therefore helping to the production of innovative, lightweight, and more sustainable aircraft structures and components.

For over 22 years, Infosys’ Aerospace Center of Excellence has delivered world-class design and engineering solutions.

Infosys partners with 7 of the top 10 global aerospace firms and has been regarded as a significant player in aerospace and military production, with deep skills in aerostructure design covering inception through release, mature composite design, and engineering automation.

At around 10.05 AM, Infosys was trading at Rs1,476 per piece, up by 1.25% from its previous closing of Rs1,457.80 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs1,472 and touched intraday high and low of Rs1,480 and Rs1,468.45 respectively.
