Infosys inaugurates digital centre in Calgary; commits to create 1,000 new jobs

Infosys Limited announced the opening of the Infosys Digital Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Infosys stated that it will add 1,000 employees to Calgary over the next two years, more than tripling its initial pledge made when the business originally entered the city in 2021. This will aid the company’s expansion across Canada, as it wants to more than quadruple its overall staff commitment in the nation by 2024, to 8,000 workers.

The Calgary Centre, located in the city’s downtown commercial district, will enable Infosys to collaborate more closely with clients in the region to develop cross-industry solutions to pressing business challenges in areas such as intelligent automation, green technology, user experience, and advanced digital technologies such as big data and cloud.

“It’s just been a year since Infosys stated that it will continue to develop in our region and add 500 skilled jobs to Calgary, and they’ve already delivered on that pledge,” Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said.

The Centre will teach, upskill, and reskill Infosys and client personnel in the technologies needed to drive Canadian firms’ digital transformation.

At around 1.17 PM, Infosys was trading at Rs1,395 per piece, up by 1.11% from its previous closing of Rs1,379.75 on the BSE. The scrip touched intraday high and low of Rs1,406 and Rs1,378.80 respectively.
