As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Health Ministry’s Central Tuberculosis Division (CTD) and the states of Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to undertake an intensified tuberculosis (TB) elimination project.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was also witnessed by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
The diagnostic assistance provided as part of the MoU will strengthen efforts to identify TB patients, allowing for timely treatment, according to the minister.
The drive also aims to provide people in Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh with sustainable and equitable access to high-quality TB treatment, care, and support services.
Indian Oil is the first corporate to supplement the state’s efforts in the Active Case Finding campaign (ACF) by investing nearly Rs64 crore in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, covering approximately 10% of the state’s population once every three years.
As part of the initiative, the corporation also plans to introduce 18 mobile medical vans outfitted with cutting-edge diagnostic technology in Uttar Pradesh.
