Jubilant FoodWorks to expand Popeyes India network to 250 restaurants

Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, which operates the US fried chicken chain Popeyes in India, stated that it intends to expand the Popeyes India network to 50 restaurants within the next year and 250 restaurants within the next 4-5 years.

Popeyes made its Indian debut in January 2022, with the opening of its first restaurant in Bengaluru, followed by a rapid expansion to 12 restaurants in Bengaluru. In a year, it expanded into a second region by opening the largest Popeyes India restaurant in Chennai.

Popeyes India has gotten a positive response from Indian customers. In the last year, nearly one million guests in Bengaluru and Chennai have sampled the Popeyes menu, which has been tailored to the diverse taste palates of Indian visitors.

According to the company, its food tech park ensures consistent quality and high store fill rates. This significantly improves taste consistency, which translates into higher brand repeat rates.

The Hot & Messy Range, which is its signature fried chicken coated in flavorful sauces with Smoky Pepper and Sweet Chilli flavours, was recently launched to appeal to Indian guests. In India, the brand also provides a full range of vegetarian options, such as burgers, rice bowls, and wraps.

Popeyes is famous for its Louisiana-style fried chicken and chicken sandwiches.

Popeyes was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1972 and headquartered in Miami. It is now one of the world’s largest chicken quick service restaurants, with nearly 4100 locations in the United States and around the world.
