Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that it has supplied various components for India’s upcoming moon mission, Chandrayaan-3.
The company manufactured components such as the ‘middle segment and nozzle bucket flange’ at its facility in Powai. At the same time, the ground and flight umbilical plates were produced at L&T’s aerospace manufacturing facility in Coimbatore.
AT Ramchandani, Executive Vice President and Head of L&T Defence, expressed their readiness to contribute to the Indian space sector and play a significant role in future space programs, leveraging their long association with ISRO.
L&T emphasized that all the subsystems for Chandrayaan-3 were delivered ahead of schedule, showcasing their efficiency and commitment to meeting project timelines.
Additionally, L&T has been involved in the production of hardware for previous space missions, including Chandrayaan-1 and 2, Gaganyaan, and Mangalyaan, further highlighting their experience and contribution to India’s space exploration endeavors.
As per data, Chandrayaan-3 is slated for lift-off at 2:35 pm on July 14 and will serve as a follow-up mission after the crash-landing of Chandrayaan-2 in September 2019 due to a software glitch.
L&T is a multinational company with a USD 23-billion valuation, operating in over 50 countries and engaged in engineering procurement and construction (EPC) projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services.
