Lupin’s CSR arm inks pact with Maharashtra Government to address CVD and COPD concerns

Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation (LHWRF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) division of Lupin Limited, has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra.

The objective of this partnership is to tackle the increasing occurrence of Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. The primary focus of the collaboration is to prioritize the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, with a long-term goal of reducing their prevalence in the region.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed by Nagnath Mudam, Joint Director (NCD), Directorate of Health Services, Maharashtra, and Tushara Shankar, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Lupin. 

The program will take place over a period of next five years, beginning with two blocks, Palghar and Dahanu. The primary goals are to raise awareness about the risks associated with CVDs and COPD, as well as to emphasize the importance of early screening and diagnosis to prevent complications and lower mortality rates. 

The campaign will also promote healthy lifestyles and preventive measures, emphasizing the importance of early screening, diagnosis, and treatment adherence.
