Indian benchmark indices ended today’s session with marginal gains. Nifty 50 closed 12 points higher. Sensex ended with a gain of 137 points.
In today’s trade, markets witnessed high volatility with a slower start to the session. However, in the last hour of trading, markets recovered to close with minor gains.
Nifty Metal, Bank, and Financial Services stocks closed in red. Nifty Media and Realty stocks ended 1% higher. All other major sectoral indices closed in positive sentiments.
On the gainers’ chart, the top 5 stocks were Apollo Hospital, UltraTech Cement, NTPC, Infosys, and Tata Motors. Among the top losers were Tata Steel, Adani Ports, Hindalco, HDFC Life, and Bharti Airtel.
Most active stocks in terms of value were HDFC Bank, Adani Enterprises, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, and Infosys. Top active stocks in terms of volume were Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank.
A total of 125 stocks touched new 52-week highs, and 26 stocks touched new 52-week lows in today’s trade.
