Indian equity indices ended today’s session on a dim note as Sensex fell over 350 points. This also marks a sluggish end to this week. Nifty 50 closed 115 points lower. Sensex ended with a decline of 365 points.
In today’s trade, markets opened slightly higher, following which, they kept an undertone. This came after the RBI communicated to keep its key policy rates unchanged.
All major sectoral indices closed in red. Nifty Media and Pharma indices closed 2% lower, falling the most in today’s trade.
HCLTech, Power Grid, Titan Company, Tata Steel, and Ultratech Cement were the shining stocks in Friday’s session. On the flipside were IndusInd Bank, SBI Life, UPL, Tata Consumer, and Asian Paints.
Most active stocks in terms of value were Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Adani Enterprises, ICICI Bank, and SBI. In terms of volume, most active stocks were Tata Steel, SBI, Power Grid, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank.
A total of 118 stocks touched new 52-week highs, and 20 stocks touched new 52-week lows.
