Indian benchmark indices may start today’s session in a flat trajectory. Yesterday, markets ended with positive numbers. Nifty 50 closed at 19,444. Sensex closed at 65,433.

On the global front, US markets ended the previous session with gains. Dow Jones closed 184 points higher. Nasdaq ended with a gain of 215 points. S&P 500 ended 48 points higher.

Asian peers were also trading with positive cues, tracking Wall Street as US bond yields eased pressure. Chinese Shanghai Composite is trading flat. Hong Kong’s Heng Seng is trading 0.63% higher. Japan’s Nikkei closed 0.44% higher. Taiwan index was up by 1.26%. South Korean Kospi is trading 0.83% higher.

Nifty Midcap 50 stocks closed with a gain of 0.66%. Bank Nifty was up by 1.10%.

Top gainers yesterday were Hindalco, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Divis Lab, and Larsen & Toubro. Adani Enterprises, Jio Financial, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, and Tech Mahindra emerged as the top laggards on Wednesday.

The rupee surged for the second consecutive session, rising 27 paise to settle at 82.72 against the US dollar on Wednesday, the greatest single-day gain in over two months. In early Asian trade on Thursday, oil prices fell as dismal industrial data from major economies outweighed optimism.
