Domestic benchmark indices traded flat amid volatility during afternoon market session after a negative start on Wednesday as the investors waited for the domestic and US consumer price data later this week.
On the sectoral front, Nifty IT index outperforming by rising over 200 pts with metal, banking index surging marginally. Meanwhile, Auto, FMCG, pharma and other major indices logged selling pressure from investors.
At around 2:00 PM, Sensex was trading at 60,194.30 higher by 78.82 points or 0.13%. Nifty 50 traded at 17,920.90 higher 6.75 points or 0.04%
Top Gainers on Nifty are BPCL (+2.1%), Hindalco (+2%), HDFC Bank (+1.85%) supported by TCS (+1.83%) and Sun Pharma (+1.6%). Meanwhile, top losers on Nifty are Bharti Airtel (-4.1%), Cipla (-2.6%), APL Apollo (-2.17%), Divis Lab (-2.10%) and Eicher Motors (-2%).
Furthermore, Adani Wilmar stocks climbed 2.6% intraday as the edible oil maker said its sales would grow in high single digits in the third quarter on strong demand.
