Maruti Suzuki India reported a 9% drop in total wholesales to 1,39,347 units in December 2022 compared to the previous year. The company sold 1,53,149 units in December 2021, stated the company in its media release.
Total domestic wholesales were 1,13,535 units in December 2022, compared to 1,26,031 units in December 2021, registering a 9.91% decrease.
Mini car sales, which included the Alto and S-Presso, were lower at 9,765 units in December 2022 compared to 16,320 units in the same month the previous year.
Similarly, sales of compact cars such as the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR fell to 57,502 units in December 2022, down from 69,345 units in December 2021.
Utility vehicles such as the Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6 Grand Vitara, on the other hand, sold 33,008 units last month, up from 26,982 units in the previous year.
At around 10.27 AM, Maruti Suzuki was trading at Rs8,400.25 apiece, marginally up against previous close of Rs8,394.60 on NSE. The counter touched intraday high and low of Rs8,454 and Rs8,337.60 respectively.
