India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, recorded a 3.39% increase in total sales, reaching 164,439 units in November 2023 compared to 159,044 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and third-party supplies, stood at 141,489 units, a 1.57% rise from 139,306 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Sales of entry-level mini cars (Alto and S-Presso) dropped to 9,959 units, down 45.43% from 18,251 units in November 2022. Domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 134,158 units, a 1.33% growth from 132,395 units in November 2022. Compact car sales, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, decreased to 64,679 units in November 2023 compared to 72,844 units in the same month last year.
Utility vehicle sales, including Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6, increased to 49,016 units from 32,563 units in November 2022. The mid-sized sedan Ciaz recorded 278 units, down from 1,554 units in November 2022, while van Eeco sales rose to 10,226 units from 7,183 units in the same month last year. Maruti Suzuki’s exports grew to 22,950 units from 19,738 units in November 2022.
