Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has disclosed the sales figures for the month of January 2022. The company sold 154,379 units in the month under review against sales of 160,752 units in January last year. As per the company, the scantiness of electronic components had a minor impact on the company’s production for the domestic market. The company took all the measures to narrow down the impact.
Maruti’s sale for mini and compact models stood at a total of 90,106 units during January 2022 against 102,088 units during January 2021, down by 11.8% on-year. Sales for the mid-segment vehicles is reported at 1,666 units for January 2022, against 1,347 units for January 2021, reflecting a growth of 23.70% YoY.
Sale of the utility vehicles and vans stood at 128,924 units for the period as against total sales of 139,002 units for January 2021, down by 7.25% YoY. While sales for the light commercial vehicle stood at 3,537 units for January 2022, as against 3,602 units, showing a downside of 1.80% over the year.
The company’s total domestic sales including OEM were reported at 1,36,442 units during January 2022, as compared to 1,48,307 units for January 2021, shedding 6.7% on-year.
Its export sales stood at 17,937 units for January month this year, as compared to 12,445 units for January month last year, up by 44.13% YoY.
