Metal shares edge lower

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, National Aluminium Company Ltd (down 3.93%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 3.87%),Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (down 2.3%),Tata Steel Ltd (down 2.15%),Steel Authority of India Ltd (down 2.02%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NMDC Ltd (down 1.65%), and JSW Steel Ltd (down 1.1%). On the other hand, Vedanta Ltd (up 2.77%), Coal India Ltd (up 0.58%), and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd (up 0.43%) moved up.At 13:46 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 422.7 or 0.7% at 59924.27.The Nifty 50 index was down 125.3 points or 0.7% at 17878.45.The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 30.2 points or 0.1% at 29922.57.The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 14.73 points or 0.16% at 9232.88.On BSE,1627 shares were trading in green, 1800 were trading in red and 128 were unchanged.Powered by Capital Market – Live News
