Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) has announced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NXP Semiconductors to venture into the electric and connected vehicle sector.
M&M, a renowned automotive manufacturer, and NXP Semiconductors, a provider of secure connectivity solutions, have joined hands to explore opportunities in the electric and connected vehicle landscape.
The partnership aims to cover a wide range of vehicles, including utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles, farm equipment, and tractors.
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & CEO – Auto and Farm Sectors at M&M, expressed the company’s intent to leverage NXP’s advanced technologies and solutions.
The objective is to develop safer, highly connected, and environmentally friendly SUVs, aligning with M&M’s mission to improve people’s quality of life through innovation and cutting-edge technology. Jejurikar further emphasized the shared goal of shaping the future of smart electric mobility and providing extraordinary experiences for consumers.
As part of the collaboration, Mahindra will gain access to NXP’s partner ecosystem, which comprises Tier 1 suppliers, original design manufacturers (ODM), independent design houses (IDH), module vendors, and integrators.
This ecosystem provides an extensive network of resources, expertise, and technologies that will contribute to the development of next-generation vehicles.
