Mumbai Oncocare Centre (MOC), a cancer daycare centre chain, announced that it has raised up to $10 million from Tata Capital Healthcare Fund for an unspecified equity stake. MOC intends to use the newly infused capital to expand throughout India over the next 18 months.
MOC is a pioneering chain of cancer daycares operating in 16 locations across 10 cities in Maharashtra and MP, founded in 2018 by four medical oncologists Ashish Joshi, Vashishth Maniar, Pritam Kalaskar, and Kshitij Joshi.
In India, approximately 15 lac people are diagnosed with cancer each year, with an additional 25-30 lakh cancer patients undergoing treatment at any given time. A large number of these patients require chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and the vast majority require the services of a medical oncologist during their treatment.
MOC addresses this unmet need through their one-of-a-kind community daycare centres, which are fully compliant hospitals where these patients can receive personalized, high-quality care.
