Neerja Kapur assumes charge as Chairman -; MD of New India Assurance

The New India Assurance Company Limited informed that it has approved the appointment of Neerja Kapur as Chairman cum Managing Director of the company effective from September 12, 2022.

As a result of this appointment, Madhulika Bhaskar’s time as a Director on the Company’s Board of Directors comes to an end.

Neerja Kapur is the General Manager of The New India Assurance Company Ltd. at the moment.

Kapur has over 35 years of expertise in the insurance industry. She is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and has a postgraduate degree in commerce.

This was in reference to the intimation by the company dated July 12, 2022, regarding the assignment of Interim Charge for the position of CMD, to Madhulika Bhaskar, General Manager.

At around 9.44 AM, New India Assurance Company was trading at Rs95.20 up by 0.85% from its previous closing of Rs94.40 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs94.35 and touched intraday high and low of Rs95.60 and Rs94.35 respectively.
