NTPC announced its results for the quarter ended June 2023 and reported a standalone net profit of Rs 4,066 crore for the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24, up 9.4% y-o-y from Rs 3,717 crore in the previous corresponding year.
The company logged a total revenue of Rs 39,122 crore in the quarter under review as compared to Rs 40,026 crore in the same quarter of previous year, down by 2.3% on a y-o-y basis.
The EBITDA of the company stood at Rs 11,369.10 crore in the June quarter, up by 16.70% y-o-y. EBITDA margin expanded by 470 basis points at 29%.
‘The comparative figures for the quarter ended 30 June 2022 are restated due to the merger of two wholly-owned subsidiaries in the previous year for which accounting has been done,’ NTPC said in a regulatory filing.
During the quarter, the company generated 88.55 billion units (BU) of gross power, a 2.16% decline from 90.50 BUs in Q1FY23.
At around 9.47 AM, NTPC was trading 2.38% higher at Rs 215, against the previous close of Rs 210 on NSE.
