According to the Industries department, state-owned Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL) liquor stores sold alcoholic beverages on Sunday for a total of Rs 18.85 crore.
On the last day of the year, MSIL, which runs a chain of 1031 stores throughout Karnataka, had record-breaking sales.
The MSIL locations would typically do business of around Rs 8 crore a day, therefore the sales increased by roughly Rs 10 crore.
MSIL Managing Director Manojkumar stated in a statement that this represents a rise of Rs 4.34 crore over the sales of Rs 14.51 crore on the same day in 2022.
With sales of Rs 11.66 lakh, the location closest to the Raichur railway station had the greatest sales, followed by another outlet on the city’s Gunj road with sales of Rs 9.96 lakh.
Bengaluru Urban was the highest-ranking district, with sales exceeding Rs 1.82 crore. Prior to this year, the district had sold spirits valued at Rs 1.35 crore on the same day.
Beverages valued at Rs 3.5 lakh were sold at the renovated, one-of-a-kind MSIL Boutique, which opened on Monday at Thimmaiah Road in Basaveshawaranagara, Bengaluru. On December 31, 2022, the same store reported sales of Rs 2.59 lakh.
