ONGC, a state-run oil and natural gas company, plans to submit the field development plan (FDP) for the world’s second deepest hydrocarbon discovery in the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin by January 2026.
ONGC operates the KG-DWN-98/2 block, which includes three clusters of discoveries—Cluster I, II, and III.
Cluster-III features an ultra-deepwater gas discovery, anticipated to become the world’s second deepest hydrocarbon discovery upon monetization.
The FDP for Cluster-III is scheduled to be submitted by January 2026, as revealed by Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas Rameswar Teli in a written response to a question in Rajya Sabha.
