ONGC plans to commence oil production from its Cluster-2 project in the Krishna Godavari basin this month. The project, located in the KG-DWN-98/2 block, will help reverse years of declining oil output for ONGC.
The FPSO (floating production, storage, and offloading) vessel Armada Sterling-V is ready to receive the first oil after several delays. Initial production is expected to be 8,000 to 9,000 barrels per day, gradually ramping up from 3 to 4 wells.
ONGC aims to avoid the challenges faced by the neighbouring KG-D6 block and ensure optimal well drilling and production quantities.
